Henderson County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a medical service that provides pre-hospital care to the residents of Henderson County, North Carolina. Operating out of four different stations, certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Paramedics are available at all times to respond to and assist with emergency medical needs. To request EMS for a medical emergency dial 911. The Henderson County Rescue Squad provides non-emergency EMS transports.
In 2015, Henderson County EMS responded to 13,563 calls throughout the county with the majority of those calls being due to sudden illnesses such as a stroke, heart attack or seizure. Henderson County EMS primarily transports patients to Pardee Hospital and Park Ridge Hospital. Dependent upon the nature of the call, patients may also be transported to Mission Hospital, often times in the case of serious trauma or a heart attack.
Henderson County EMS also participates with local and regional hospitals in their Code STEMI, Code Stroke and Code Trauma programs to better assist patients with life-threatening conditions.
Henderson County EMS works directly with and under Henderson County Emergency Services.
