or Family Nurse Practitioner – Wellness Clinic — Human Resources Department |
Start rate: $57,739 - $70,000 annually depending upon qualifications | This position supports the County’s expansion
of its employee wellness program. Obtains patient histories, performs
physical examinations, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including
health risk assessments, accurately records patient information,
counsels patients, develops and maintains health care or therapeutic
plans consistent with patient needs and the County’s wellness
initiatives. Distributes wellness program educational literature
and material, promotes and assists with wellness events. Receives
direction from and reports to senior Nurse Practitioner, Hours:
9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Mondays and Fridays, 8 a.m. – 4:30
p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays. |

| Full-time Paramedic — Emergency Medical Services | Hourly rate: EMT - $13.00; Paramedic $14.61 – 16.79 depending upon qualifications | Must have a current North Carolina Paramedic certification, or have a current North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate certification and obtain a current North Carolina Paramedic certification by December 31, 2010. Testing is required and includes written, practical, and lifting tests. Valid North Carolina driver’s license and driver’s history are required. Previous emergency medical service is preferred. Pre-employment drug screening required. |

| One (1) Full Time Library Assistant — Public Library |
Hourly rate: $11.55 – 13.27 depending upon qualifications | Responsibilities include performing responsible clerical work requiring the application of basic library work practices. Assists patrons in checking library materials in an out of the Library; registers patrons for a borrower’s card; collects overdue fines; maintains records and tabulations; shelves books and other materials. Requires some knowledge of library techniques, systems, working tools, and procedures; ability to explain and use library tools and facilities; ability to keyboard and maintain records and reports; ability to communicate effectively orally; ability to attend work regularly; excellent interpersonal skills. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. |

| Temporary Full-time Maintenance Technician II - Nights — Central Services Department | Start rate: $13.52/hr | Position is a full time temporary basis for a special project in the Central Services Division. Performs skilled electrical work (up to 480 volts) in Henderson County buildings and facilities. Work entails retrofitting existing lighting and installing new lighting fixtures to meet the terms of a grant funded by The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Employees must exercise judgment and initiative in completing assignments and comply with all safety policies and regulations. 6-month assignment, night hours 9 p.m. – 7 a.m. 4 days/week, can be flexible. Pre-employment drug screening required. Directly supervised by lead maintenance staff, reporting to Central Services Manager. Requires general knowledge of principles, practices, tools, and equipment used in all phases of electrical maintenance and repair; skill in use of tools and equipment used for electrical maintenance and repair work; ability to read blueprints for construction of electrical projects; ability to attend work regularly, especially at night or for other variable hours. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in electrical and/or building maintenance trades. |
