Our Mission Statement
The Henderson County Department of Social Services is dedicated to our special responsibility to assist and provide opportunities for all individuals and families in need of protection, economic support and social work services to become self supporting and achieve a stable and satisfying family life. We advocate for and encourage individual and family self determination to achieve realistic goals. We strive to accomplish our mission through teamwork and professional practice. Toward this end, with cooperation with helping agencies and our community, we seek to identify needs, advocate for and focus resources, and deliver services responsibly, compassionately and in a timely manner.

This is evidenced by the many service agencies supported by volunteer services aimed at meeting the varied needs of its citizens. Our agency also benefits from our involved citizenry.
