Henderson County's Fire Marshal Department is supervised by Wallace H. "Wally" Hollis,
Deputy Fire Marshal. Mr. Hollis and his staff perform fire prevention inspections
of all county businesses and investigate vehicle fires, structure
fires, and illegal burns. During large-scale emergencies, personnel within
the department work around the clock to coordinate the disaster/emergency response
and to provide timely information to emergency personnel, county officials,
and the citizens of Henderson County.
Essential Departmental Functions: The department conducts fire inspections in
accordance with the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code, responds to fire investigations,
prepares fire incident reports, and responds to the concerns of citizens within
Henderson County. Training is provided for county firefighters and rescue workers
at the Herman S. Weisburg Training Center on the Blue Ridge Community College
campus. The office of the Fire Marshal also provides support and assistance
in various ways to the Henderson County Fire Departments and other emergency
services.
