The Western North Carolina Nature Center houses 42 acres of plants and animals native to the southern Appalachian region. The Center offers many exciting programs throughout the year. The educational programs offer a multitude of learning opportunities about the rich heritage of the Southern Appalachian Region. Open year round with indoor and outdoor exhibits. Closed Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day & Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Open Monday-Sunday 10am-5pm.
