The Historic Village of Flat Rock is home to these widely recognized attractions: the Carl Sandburg Home, National Historic Site; the Flat Rock Playhouse, State Theatre of North Carolina and St. John in the Wilderness Church.

Some of the most spectacular crystal clear waterfalls in Western North Carolina are located within a short drive of downtown Hendersonville in DuPont State Forest.
