Youth Soccer - 2018

Recreation Soccer | First Pillar | Pre-K Soccer | Summer Camps

Recreation Soccer is open to boys and girls in Kindergarten-Highschool. (Players must be 5 years of age as of August 1, 2017 and less than 18 years of age.) This program is a developmental league with a "Must Play Rule". All players will receive NCYSA membership and uniform. All players must wear shinguards with socks covering the shinguards during practices and matches.

Coaches Meeting: Saturday, March 3

First Meeting & Practice: Saturday, March 3, Jackson Park

Teams are formed based on age/school district and players are assigned into divisions U6-U18. Requests are considered secondary. Older age-group (U14 and up) teams will play in cooperation with the Asheville Buncombe Youth Soccer Association recreation program and will require some travel to Buncombe County for matches.

The season will run March through May with matches starting on Saturday, March 17. Weeknight or Sunday afternoon matches will be required in addition to the regular Saturday matches.

All of our coaches are volunteers. Please consider volunteering-training and materials are provided!

If you are a "NEW" player, PLEASE MAIL copy of Birth Certificate/Proof of age (HCPRD, 708 S Grove St., Hendersonville, NC 28792)

The Coaches meeting will take place in early March, with a free clinic and training sessions, where coaches will gain youth coaching skills from the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association. Rosters and information will be given out after the course.

First Pillar Program

The First Pillar program is for players born in 2008, 2009 and 2010, 2011. The program is intended to introduce the players to a training experience consistent with HCSA’s next level of play (HFC Hendersonville’s Academy, Challenge, or Classic programs) while helping teach them the techniques necessary for future soccer success and greater enjoyment of the game.


Each member of the First Pillar Skill Development Program staff has played collegiate or soccer professionally and is qualified to teach developmentally appropriate soccer material to HCSA’s young soccer players. The program is intended to be an additional day of practice for players participating in the HCSA Recreation Program. Players will go to their HCSA recreation team practice one day of the week and then come to “First Pillar” for a second practice.

Program sessions are held on Wednesdays during the season.


Henderson County Program - Held at the Henderson County Athletics & Activity Center - 708 South Grove Street. Hendersonville, NC 28792.


The fee for the 7-session program is $78 per player. Registration is open to all players both boys and girls born in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.


Wednesdays- 4:45 pm-6:00 pm- March 21, 28; April 11, 18, 25; May 2, 9 (May 16 is a scheduled Make-Up day if needed)


Registration Deadline is March 16, 2018.

Soccer Shots for ages 2.5-5


Soccer Shots is a high-energy program introducing children to fundamental soccer principles, such as using your feet, dribbling and the basic rules of the game. Through fun games and positive reinforcement children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. Our caring team positively impacts children’s lives on and off the field through best-in-class coaching, curriculum and communication.

The 10 week sessions will start on March 13-May 22 (off April 3 for spring break) and be held at Shelter 1 in Jackson Park.

Ages 2.5-3: Tuesdays, 5:15pm-5:45pm

Ages 4-5: Tuesdays, 6pm-6:45pm
