Subdivision: Conservation Option

What is a conservation subdivision?

A conservation subdivision is where an applicant permanently sets aside open space or agricultural lands in order to receive density bonuses. Any subdivision application may apply using the conservation subdivision option.

Why use the conservation subdivision option?

There are many benefits to using the conservation subdivision option as outlined in the conservation subdivision brochure.

How are conservation subdivisions regulated?

Chapter 200A, Land Development Code, contains the standards for developing a conservation subdivision and the methods by which the density bonus can be achieved. These standards are found in Article III (Subdivision Regulations) §200A-88 (Conservation Subdivisions (Option)).
