Dana Community Plan

Henderson County began the process of drafting the Dana Community Plan for the Dana, Tracy Grove and Upward Communities.  The Henderson County Board of Commissioners recently appointed citizens to a committee, which will guide the community’s planning process for this area. The community planning efforts, directed by the Board of Commissioners, have nothing to do with previous or future incorporation efforts of the Dana Community. The Draft Plan, when completed, will include specific recommendations for this area of the County and will guide future growth and county policy in these communities based on the residents’ input.

Planning Staff proposes a proven Planning Process that can generate a high-quality and useful plan using the wisdom and resources of the Dana, Tracy Grove and Upward Communities. With the creation and implementation of this plan, the Community can articulate and realize its vision for the next 10-15 years. Planning Staff anticipates the Dana Community Plan will take approximately 18-24 months to complete and be adopted by the Board of Commissioners. The Dana Community Plan Advisory Committee began meeting regularly in September to develop a plan.
