Henderson County’s population has more than doubled during the 30 year period between 1970 and 2000. The percent in population change between 1990 and 2000 (28.7 percent change) makes Henderson County one of the fastest growing counties in Western North Carolina.
Henderson County has a total population (as of July, 2006) of 100,107 persons. The projected County population by the year 2010 is 108,136 and by 2020 the population is project to be 126,628 persons.
