Rider Information
Apple Country Transit provides two services: the fixed route transit system and the paratransit system.
Fixed Route System
The fixed route system is available to all citizens and visitors to the County. Click here for more ridership information.
Paratransit System
The paratransit system is restricted to certain eligible individuals under the rules of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Eligibility includes, but is not limited to:
- Persons living within the paratransit service area (areas within 3/4 mile of the fixed route transit system (see Paratransit Service Area Map and the list of Addresses Served by Paratransit)).
- Persons unable to navigate the fixed route system.
- Persons who require a lift-equipped vehicle when the fixed route service does not provide accessibility.
- Persons whose disability makes it impossible for them to travel to or from the nearest transit stop.
If you believe you have a disability (including mobility, cognitive and visual impairments), that prevents you from independently using lift-equipped accessible fixed-route transit service, please request an application from Apple Country Transit by mail at 526 7th Avenue East, Hendersonville, NC 28792 or phone at (828) 698-8571. Please indicate if you need an application in an alternative format or require in-person telephone assistance to complete your application. All application information will be kept confidential.
Upon review of your application you are eligible for some rides but not for others. It may be determined that you are capable of using the lift-equipped fixed route transit service.
