Thank
you for your interest in employment with Henderson County.
How
do I apply for a currently advertised job listing?
Henderson County requires that all applicants
submit a Henderson County or a State
of North Carolina PD-107 Application. You must specify on the application
the specific job opening that you are applying for. If you have submitted an
application within the last six months, prior to the application deadline, you
must contact HRD date by telephone (828-697-4669) or e-mail
and inform us you would like to be considered for the position under recruitment.
Application
vs. Resume Submission
A resume may be submitted in addition
to a Henderson County or State of North Carolina PD-107 Application. Henderson
County does not accept resumes in lieu of completing the entire application
or any specific section of the application. Applications must be completed
in full, signed and dated. Incomplete application information may result in
an applicant not being considered for a position.
Where
are jobs advertised and posted?
Besides being posted on our web
site, Henderson County job vacancies are posted at the Henderson County
Office Building located at 100 North King Street, the Human Resources Office
at 112 First Avenue West, and with the Employment Security Commission, 26
Francis Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792 (www.ncesc.com). Information on current openings is also available
on our JOB LINE (828-697-4575). Additional postings and advertisements may
be placed with other agencies and publications.
May
I apply for a job listing that has already closed?
To be considered for a vacant position,
your application must be submitted by the stated deadline. If hand delivered
or faxed to our office, this means by 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date. If mailed,
a postmark reflecting a date on or before the deadline is acceptable.
When
will I hear about a job listing I applied for?
The recruitment process is sometimes
a very lengthy one. Generally, within just a few days of the closing date, all
applications are forwarded to the respective department head. The department
head reviews the applications and selects a certain number of the most qualified
applicants to interview. Timing is based on the department head's schedule.
The interview process can take several weeks or more. Once a position has been
filled, all applicants are notified.
