Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program
Henderson County Department of Public Health
Hendersonville, North Carolina

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program serves women who are uninusred or underinsured and do not have Medicare Part B or Medicaid. The patient must also meet income guidelines. The program targets women 40-64 years of age, but women 18-39 years of age with breast symptoms may be eligible. Through this program women can get a pelvic exam, a pap smear, a breast exam, and a mammogram at no charge. Certain diagnostic services are also covered such as ultrasounds, diagnostic mammograms, colposcopies, and biopsies.

Yearly screening can save lives, and BCCCP can help women by making these tests not only available, but affordable. BCCCP can also cover cancer treatment costs. Women diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer while enrolled in the North Carolina Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program may be eligible for treatment through Breast and Cervical Cancer Medicaid.

This is where BCCCP can help. For women who have been putting off having regular screenings because of lack of insurance or high costs, BCCCP provides yearly cervical and breast cancer tests so that cancers, if present, can be detected early.
