This division is responsible for all management functions that supports clinical, community and environmental health services. It is Administration's responsibility to implement public health policies set by the Board of Health which is appointed by Henderson County Board of Commissioners. It is also the administration department that carries out responsibilities as required by Henderson County Government such as personnel actions and budgetary and finance.

Word Format Vital Records (births & deaths) The Health Department records all births and deaths that occur in Henderson County regardless of residency status. All births and deaths must be recorded within five days of the occurrence. The original copy is sent to the NC Vital Records Department, (919) 733-3000. A copy is sent to Henderson County Register of Deeds at the County Courthouse. A certified copy of a certificate may be obtained at the Register of Deeds (828) 697-4901 for $10.00 per copy. Further information may be obtained by calling Etta Cannon at 692-4223. The Department of Public Health's annual budget is adopted by the Board of Health. Recommendations are made by County Administration and the Department of Budget and Finance to the Board of Commissioners who ultimately approves the budget.. The Health Department manages all expenditures according to state mandates and policies/procedures set by the Department of Budget and Finance and County Administration. Any prospective vendor must call for an appointment. |
