Sterilization
Sterilization is when a man or woman has a surgery to prevent pregnancy, and is sometimes called having the tubes tied. Women and men who no longer want to have children may consider sterilization. The surgery is called vasectomy in men, and tubal ligation in women. Sterilization is permanent and cannot be reversed. Only women and men who are sure they never want to have children again should consider this method of birth control.
