While some addresses given may be valid to the post office some addresses do not correspond to Henderson County's official Property Addressing Database. In these cases, the offenders should report to the Property Addressing Office to get an official address. This addressing data is know to contain some positional accuracy problems. Addresses have been mapped without accurate site plans as a control. Hence from mapping off the best available source, which in some cases was just a rough sketch, there are some shifts that are being corrected as they are found. This data does not contain unknown addresses, 'wrong' addresses (not in the addressing database), or offenders in prison outside of Henderson County. This data is continutally updated in the North Carolina State Registry for Sex Offenders. The GIS data is updated weekly on the GIS Online web site. These omissions should be referenced when comparing our data to the NC Sex Offender Registry web site. The original database was create off of 2001 orthophotography, field check and gps reports.
