Henderson County GIS and Real Property Data Download Page
This page is for the download of GIS and CAD data for use in a GIS or CAD program such as ArcView, ArcGIS, or Autocad.

To download GIS data (shapefiles and DXF) for use with ArcView, ArcGIS,
Autocad, or other compatible software, PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW, THEN CLICK ON THE APPROPRIATE LINK.
1. After you have read these instructions, click on the appropriate link to go to the FTP site (the links are near the bottom of this page).
2. You will be prompted for the user name and password. Enter the following information:
3. Find the file(s) that you need to download.
4. Right-click on the file and choose "Copy to folder".
5. Copy the file to a convenient place on your computer.
6. Once the file is finished downloading, you will need to unzip it.

This data is in North Carolina State Plane Coordinate System, NAD 83, feet.

website.
Shapefiles are a standard format for ESRI software products and require ArcView 3, ArcGIS, or ArcExplorer to view.
ArcExplorer is a limited GIS viewing program that can be downloaded free of charge by clicking here.
DXF is an interchange format that can be used in Autocad and other CAD-type engineering software products.
A special option for ArcMap users with a fast, stable internet connection:
You can add Henderson County's data to your ArcMap view with the following
steps.
1. Open ArcMap.
2. Click on the "Add data" button.![]()
3. At the top of the "Add data" dialog box, scroll down and double-click
on the "GIS Servers" icon.

4. Then click "Add ArcIMS Server", and type "http://207.4.201.200/"
in the URL box. Click OK.

5. There should now be a "207.4.201.200" item listed.
Double-click on it.

6. Double-click on the "FeatureServer" option. You should see the
available Henderson County layers, which you will be able to add to your view.
7. If you want to save a shapefile, right-click on the shapefile in the Table
of Contents and select Data>Export Data. Enter the appropriate output location
and name.
