MEDICAID FACTS

WHAT IS RETROACTIVE MEDICAID?
Someone who has medical bills in one or all 3 months prior to application date may apply for these bills, if all other eligibility factors are met.


WHAT IS CAROLINA ACCESS?
Carolina Access is a way of linking Medicaid recipients to a Primary Care Doctor for their health needs in their community. Dental or Eye doctors are excluded.

WHAT IS FAMILY PLANNING MEDICAID
A program for men, ages 19 through 60, women, ages 19 through 55, with income at or below the 185% poverty level, to receive family planning services.


WHAT IS THE BREAST AND CERVICAL CANCER PROGRAM?
A program of medical assistance for women enrolled and screened for breast and cervical cancer through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program.


WHAT IS CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES?
  Child Support Services is a nationwide program established by Congress in 1975 to ensure that both parents support their children to the extent of their ability. In Henderson County the program is administered by Social Services. The federal legislation mandating the Child Support Program is Title IV-D of the Social Security Act. Sometimes, the program is called the IV-D (4-D) program.

To complete a Medicaid application on-line, click on the links above. Both English and Spanish forms are provided. Remember that this application can only be used if you have a child under the age of 21 living with you OR you are pregnant.
