YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT I
TEMPORARY POSITION - until Aug 23rd

at the Henderson County Youth Home

Under general supervision, supports the operation of the Henderson County Youth Home facility, ensuring the safety, protection and supervision of the children residing at the facility. This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, including week-ends and possible overnight shifts.

 

Qualifications: High school graduation and two years of experience working with emotionally or mentally handicapped clients with emphasis on behavioral management; OR an associate degree in a human services field and one year of experience working with emotionally or mentally handicapped clients; OR a four-year degree and one year of experience; OR a four-year degree in a human services field; OR equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to work as a member of a team. Ability to role model appropriate behavior for youths and to employ effective communication skills. Must pass physical examination, background investigation and drug-screen analysis. Must possess valid North Carolina driver's license.  There are NO benefits with this position.

 

Grade / Salary:  Grade 64 - $12.07 per hour for fully qualified applicant
                           Grade 62 - $11.16 per hour for trainee
