YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT III

(NIGHT MANAGER)

at Henderson County Youth Home

Under general supervision, ensures that night (3rd shift) coverage, management and supervision is provided for the care and safety of the residents in the Henderson County Youth Shelter.  Plans menus, prepares meals, supervises subordinates, conducts basic maintenance tasks and other duties related to the operations of the shelter.

High school graduation and four years of experience working with emotionally or mentally handicapped clients with emphasis on behavioral management, preferably with one year of such experience being with children and youth; OR an associate degree in a human services field and three years of experience, preferably with one year of such experience being with children and youth; OR a four-year degree and one year of experience; OR a four-year degree in a human services field and one year of experience; OR equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.  Requires experience in food preparation and meal planning.  Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relation ships and to work as a member of a team.  Ability to role model appropriate behavior for youths and to employ effective communication skills.  Must pass physical examination, background investigation and pre-employment drug-screening.  Must possess valid North Carolina driver's license.   Full-time position, 40-hour work week (third shift). 

Grade / Salary:   Grade 68 - $14.61 per hour
