The Department of Social Services recruits under an open recruitment policy. Applications are accepted at any time for any classification even if there is no current vacancy. There are no deadline dates for applying. Instead, hiring decisions will be made from the applications on hand when a job opening occurs. Recruitment ads may be advertised if current applicant pool is not sufficient. See below for classification titles, requirements and salaries.

A N.C. State Application form PD-107 can be obtained at the Employment Security Commission or Department of Social Services at 1200 Spartanburg Highway Suite 300, Hendersonville, NC 28792. If you are not from our local area, you may call (828) 697-5500 and request an application be mailed to you. Completed applications may be mailed to the above address or dropped off at the DSS reception desk. Our office hours are from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The County Administrative Office is open from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM.
